Southampton, December 2021: In June 2021, Nine23 Ltd, specialising in cyber security solutions to enable end-users to utilise secure technology through its secure UK Platform FLEX cloud and managed services, and e2e-assure, a trusted cyber security services company with over 20 years’ experience specialising in SOC-as-a-Service and Managed Detection & Response (MDR), announced that they will join forces and work together to deliver world-class cyber security solutions to reduce risk and deliver value whilst being fully transparent.
After months of collaboration, we can now announce the details of our Sovereign Security Service and the benefits it will bring to public sector organisations.
What is the service?
Both Nine23 and e2e-assure have experienced great success in the delivery of their respective services and through mutual customers, realised that there are additional benefits for customers in taking a joint service.
The offering centres around Nine23’s well established UK sovereign Platform FLEX cloud and managed services, providing organisations fully data sovereign hosting capability and assured network connectivity to a number of secure community networks all with independent, high quality security monitoring and detection services.
The FLEX platform will be backed up by e2e’s world-class, 24/7 SOC-as-a-Service, providing protective monitoring across an organisations’ network, handled by a team of Security Cleared analysts. Both services are fully integrated together, centred around e2e’s Cumulo SOC platform (integrating SIEM, SOAR and XDR functionality) as either a SaaS or dedicated PaaS hosted solution. Cumulo is capable of integrating with any tool or process in a network, including ITSM tools, allowing the managed SOC to be a seamless extension of the FLEX managed services.
Through the strategic UK SME partnership, Nine23 and e2e-assure will provide cyber security solutions designed for complex public sector needs, protecting data from OFFICIAL-Sensitive to Secret.
The service is within the scope of certified ISO27001, supports the Data Protection Act 2018 (including GDPR) and PCI-DSS compliance and is available on G-Cloud 12 via the Digital Marketplace.
How does the joint service benefit organisations?
Organisations looking for a flexible managed service, coupled with a flexible Security Operations Centre are the perfect fit for Sovereign Security Service. The Nine23 Platform FLEX service can offer a combination of hosting and network connectivity services with full data sovereignty and a security cleared service desk and engineering team able to adapt to myriad of requirements in demanding security environments. It regularly surpasses requirements for availability and performance, offering customers confidence and reliability where they need it most.
Likewise, e2e’s SOC services are available as a fully outsourced team, as a simple Platform-as-a-Service or, more commonly, as a hybrid model, utilising in-house security teams and adding the capacity, experience and expertise of e2e, whilst removing the lower-level alerts and requirement to deliver a 24/7 monitoring service in-house.
This joint service also benefits organisations by simplifying potentially complex procurement processes, with two integrated services in one simple procurement. In addition, having a separate organisation to the managed service provider monitor the customer network provides additional transparency and confidence that the provider does not ‘mark one’s own homework’, with e2e being a step removed from the network and so able to directly offer due diligence and assurances in a completely transparent manner to improve security.
The close working relationship also brings operational advantages to customers, with a more holistic understanding of the network (and therefore easier to deliver both managed services and SOC services efficiently). In addition, Nine23 and e2e work as one team, improving the identification and resolution of potential security issues – e2e flag potential issues to either the customer or Nine23 (depending on model), who can then quickly resolve them with pre-agreed processes based on the customer requirements.
